Woman's health is the pivot not only for the healthy & happy status for her family ,
rather to the whole society or event to the nation at large.
Though the importance of health care was recognised by the earliest man and consistent efforts
were being made by subsequent generations , yet twentieth
century has evidenced maximum cry on this front.In this attempt that the health planners have recognised
the values of traditional system (AYURVEDA)
& have accepted that without exploring this source the solution of health problems will remain in mirage.
Ayurveda the oldest system of medicine still serving major part of society has dealt each & every aspect of health.
Necessity of expert supervision ,side effects & toxicity limit the use of allopathic medicines.
At present about half of the population of the world resides in countries where Govt. has recognised the practice
of the traditional medicines.
★Common gynaecological problems treated by Ayurveda are Vaginitis,Dryness in vagina,Pelvic Inflammatory Disease,
Leukorrhoea,Foul smelling discharges from vagina,Dysmenorrhoea,Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding,Pre & Post Menstrual Syndrome,Frigidity,Infertility,
Anaemia etc.
★Different herbs and medicines commonly used in gynaecological problems are Ashok , Shatavari ,Udumbara ,Manjistha ,
Yasthimadhu ,Lodhra ,Kumari ,Dashamula ,Bala ,Amalaki ,Ashwagandha etc .and medicinal preparations like Ashokarist,Dashamularist,Lodhrasav,Bri. Methimodak,
Pushyanug churn,Raja pravartini vati,Nastapuspantak rasa etc.
